Detailed Narrative Description of Project:
As the Southern Africa Development Community’s [SADC] North-South Corridor
comprising of six International trunk routes connects Zambia with the neighboring
countries of Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia of which Kafue-Mazubuka road is
one them; the Government of the Republic of Zambia has instigated upgrading of
Kafue-Mazubuka road [T1] in Southern Province to bitumen standard for the
effective accommodation of trade and the transportation of International cargo and
bulk commodities between the countries of Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and
South Africa.
The Road Development Agency has appointed Advanced Engineering Solutions, in
association [as a Sub-Consultant] with Ethio Infra Engineering PLC and TACT
Engineering Group PLC in providing consultancy services for the supervision of
upgrading Kafue-Mazubuka road to bitumen standard. Advanced Engineering
Solutions has already geared-up in undertaking the assignment for the successful
realization of the desired project outcomes.
Services Provided by Advanced Engineering Solutions:
1.Preparation and approval of Quality control and quality assurance plan
2.Bridge design review
3.Review of geometrical and profile design
4.Supervision of construction of drainage structures such as bridge, box culverts and pipe culverts
5.Review of pavement design
6.Mix design of stabilized material and cement concrete
7.Approval of all construction materials such subgrade [G7 and G15], stabilized subbase [C1], crushed base [CRR] and Marshal asphalt concrete.
8.Preparation of monthly report
9.Reviewing and approving Contractor’s quality assurance plan
